Urban Airship Appoints SaaS Veterans to Executive Leadership Roles

New leaders will accelerate company’s record business growth and drive to profitability, scaling its operations and multi-product sales globally

PORTLAND, Ore., – September 22, 2016 – Building on record revenue and customer adoption rates, mobile engagement leader Urban Airship today announced two executive appointments naming Scott Allen CFO and Eric Holmen SVP of worldwide sales. Scott is responsible for leading Urban Airship’s financial, accounting and business operations organizations, while Eric will lead the global sales team to help customers grow their businesses through mobile. Both executives report directly to CEO and president Brett Caine.

Scott Allen brings more than 30 years of technology business leadership experience to Urban Airship as CFO, including expertise in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, business development, operations and business systems. Previously, Scott served as the CFO of Intermedia where he led revenue expansion from $50M to $200M and created a leading finance and internal system teams and infrastructure to support the company's’ pre-IPO preparation and regulatory requirements. Prior to Intermedia, Scott was vice president and CFO of Citrix Online, responsible for executing financial and operational strategies that grew top-line SaaS revenue from $70M to more than $400M in five years. Prior to Citrix, Scott held a variety of positions in finance at ADP, culminating in overseeing all aspects of its Payment Solutions Division as vice president and general manager.

As senior vice president of worldwide sales for Urban Airship, Eric Holmen brings more than 20 years of experience in executive marketing and sales leadership roles for technology, martech and mobile companies. Most recently, Eric was executive vice president of global sales for Invoca where he built the sales processes and teams to attain 500 percent revenue growth.  Prior to his executive sales role, Eric was the Invoca’s CMO where he led the company through a strategic market shift and full rebranding. Prior to Invoca, Eric was SVP of global marketing and sales for Silverpop where he achieved record growth and retention by building a global team and scalable sales process. Eric has held senior marketing, sales and business development roles at Omnicom, Catalina Marketing and Sears, Roebuck, and Co., in addition to serving as president of SmartReply where he grew revenue 852 percent over seven years leading to its acquisition by Genesys Communications.
