Apps Extend Connections Beyond Customers to Employees — Enter the B2E App
Many brands use apps as a way to better engage with their customers, however business-to-employee (B2E) apps hold a range of opportunities for businesses to connect with their employees, associates or franchisees.
B2E apps are a great way to help train and educate remote or field employees and keep them up-to-date on the latest product information/releases as they become available.
For example, Aruba Networks (a Hewlett Packard company), uses its Quotient app to help employees access new information faster than traditional email marketing and newsletters. When a user gets a push notification from the app, they can easily click into the app and read or learn the latest. A similar approach could also be used by brands to communicate with its franchisees.
B2E apps can be used for events and conferences to share schedules, session locations and other information. Bosch North America recently developed a B2E app (in partnership with Exhilent) for its internal sales and marketing conference. The E2 app used Urban Airship Engage in conjunction with Gimbal’s beacon technology to create a richer conference experience. Bosch sent targeted push notifications to associates based on their specific track to remind users of their schedule and sessions. With beacons, Bosch North America was also able to gain insights into which areas of the event, such as conference rooms or product tents, were visited the most, which can be valuable in making subsequent events even better.
