# Automated Rollouts for Scenes and Feature Flags

Remove the recurring manual work of adjusting a Scene or feature flag rollout percentage by letting Airship increase the audience automatically on a schedule you set.

Automating a rollout removes the need to watch the calendar or set reminders. It can't stall partway through because someone forgot to update it. You also get these advantages:

* **Precise pacing** — A steady ramp avoids the irregular jumps of manual increases. This keeps resource strain, like database query volume or support ticket volume, predictable as your audience grows.
* **Flexibility** — Switch to manual anytime to hold the rollout at its current percentage instead of resetting. For example, pause a checkout screen rollout if it starts affecting revenue.

Setup is quick. When configuring a rollout, select **Automated**, and then set starting and ending percentages, and an end date.

## Requirements and documentation

Rollouts for feature flags and Scenes require the Feature Flags add-on, which is included with [AXP Essentials](https://www.airship.com/docs/reference/feature-packages/). Automated rollouts require minimum SDKs iOS 21 and Android 21.
