# Audience data reference

Find the audience data available when configuring audiences for messages and experiments.

Airship evaluates your audience at the channel level or contact level, depending on when your project's account was created and whether it has migrated to contact-level segmentation. | Condition | Details |
| --- | --- |
| **App version** | Android uses an integer `versionCode`. iOS uses semantic versioning. Requires an operator. "is between" includes boundary values. Example: 4.3 - 5.1 includes 4.3 and 5.1. |
| **Device tags**<sup>1</sup> | These are [primary device tags](https://www.airship.com/docs/reference/glossary/#primary_device_tag). Multiple tags use boolean AND or OR. All selected tags must match, or any tag can match. |
| **Feature flag access** | Includes or excludes users who are in other feature flag audiences. Available for feature flag configurations only. |
| **[Locale](https://www.airship.com/docs/reference/glossary/#locale)** | Language is required. Country is optional. |
| **Location opt-in status** | Based on the device location permission. |
| **New users** | A user is new after installing your app and is detected on the first app open. Reinstalls qualify, app updates do not. Users who already opened the app before you publish are excluded. Eligibility does not guarantee display. Triggers and other display rules still apply. |
| **Platforms** | One or more of: iOS, Android, Fire OS, or Web. |
| **Push opt-in status** | Based on the device push notification permission. |
| **Segments** | Filter with a set of conditions you define, using the same UI and options as a [segment](https://www.airship.com/docs/reference/glossary/#segment). Available for feature flag configurations only. See [Segments](#segments). |

1. [Server-side](https://www.airship.com/docs/guides/audience/your-audience/#client-server) tags cannot be targeted with this condition. Instead, create a segment that includes that data, then target that segment. See [Segments](#segments).
