Find the audience data available when configuring audiences for messages and experiments.

Airship evaluates your audience at the channel level or contact level, depending on when your project’s account was created and whether it has migrated to contact-level segmentation. For explanations of each system, see Audience evaluation in Your audience.

Use the following references when configuring audience settings in the contact-level segmentation system.

Use this data to configure Channel conditions in the Message composer, Sequence messages, and each variant in A/B tests and Intelligent Rollouts:

Use this data to configure Channel conditions in In-App Automations, Scenes, and feature flagAn experimentation tool for controlling the availability of content or functionality in your app or website. A flag’s Configurations determine the audience, schedule, and property values to apply when the flag is enabled. Flag properties enable making immediate code updates, bypassing the need for traditional code changes and release processes. configurations:

App versionAndroid uses an integer versionCode. iOS uses semantic versioning. Requires an operator. “is between” includes boundary values. Example: 4.3 - 5.1 includes 4.3 and 5.1.
Device tags1These are primary device tagsAny tag that is set without specifying a custom tag group. Primary device tags belong to the device tag group and apply to a channel only, not a named user.. Multiple tags use boolean AND or OR. All selected tags must match, or any tag can match.
Feature flag accessIncludes or excludes users who are in other feature flag audiences. Available for feature flag configurations only.
LocaleThe combination of a language and country. A user’s locale is determined by their device settings.Language is required. Country is optional.
Location opt-in statusBased on the device location permission.
New usersA user is new after installing your app and is detected on the first app open. Reinstalls qualify, app updates do not. Users who already opened the app before you publish are excluded. Eligibility does not guarantee display. Triggers and other display rules still apply.
PlatformsOne or more of: iOS, Android, Fire OS, or Web.
Push opt-in statusBased on the device push notification permission.

  1. Server-side tags cannot be targeted with this condition. Instead, create a segment that includes that data, then target that segment. See Segments.
