The Ferguson High Fineness Ratio Multi Mission Airship is designed as a Lighter Than Air – Not a hybrid – airship. It flies at or near neutral buoyancy at all times and uses proven CONOPS, mature and well known COTS materials, systems and technologies.
It is completely scalable and will be optimized to any mission requirements – The High Fineness Ratio Multi Mission Airship is defined to balance volume and buoyant lift, sized to maximum operational payload and shaped to achieve best aerodynamic and economic efficiency.
Designed, Engineered and Tested – Over 200 man years of time and effort with $22+ million spent on engineering and R&D to date. This includes 160 wind tunnel models with over 400 hours of testing, three Froude Scale Models and two 50’ scale prototypes. Concepts proven, validated and flown on 65 foot scale prototype. Full axis control at low speed for landing and takeoff makes large ground crews unnecessary. Scale prototype demonstrated low speed maneuvers in crosswind conditions that had never been successfully executed before by an airship.
